Note this post has been copied out of another thread. This was originally posted by Safrane610 and has been reposted here in a new topic.

Had a look at this today. Turned out there was a piece of plastic in the fan and a few leaves! The plastic looks like it has broken from somewhere (possibly a cover/flap to stop leaves getting in?) and had wedged in the fan. So I didn't need to replace it but very nice to know I now have a spare. That's something that has irritated me for a while so very pleased to get it sorted.

Hope you don't mind 610, I've reposted this post from another topic as a new topic as I've got to the bottom of this and thought others might like to know..

Stripping my safrane down today and removing the blower housing, I found this same piece of plastic. It's from the flap itself - stuck to some foam that is supposed to protect the flap.

Here are some pictures:

The offending piece of plastic:

The flap up (closed):

The flap down (open):

Where the plastic should be:

IF you're brave enough to remove this huge lump of plastic (two bolts under the scuttle and then some screws behind the lower dash cover) then you can probably glue this back in place yourself.

It's a daft design if you ask me but I suppose at least it's easy enough to fix - cut out a bit of plastic from an ice cream tub and glue it in!

Are the blowers available anywhere?

Not a clue but if they are, they'll be expensive new. Your best bet is to prowl the breakers and grab one while you can as they do burn out and they are highly sought after.

Most of us have started stockpiling our spares as they're so hard to find now. I have cupboards full of bits.. plus two sheds.. and i get nagged weekly lol
