rust seems like a major concern at the moment...

Yes and I've discovered places where it likes to hide right out of sight too! The one I'm breaking had it in a few places that were a bit disturbing.. accident waiting to happen that one was.

As for the other one which needs warm weather to fix.. it's in better condition but the front subframe is very rusty. Luckily the subframe on the breaker is in pretty good condition so I will swap them.

Another place for rust is behind the plastic sills under the doors. Granted they do fair reasonably well but it does grow there though not as bad as some cars I've seen.

Also the front fog light (drivers side) has a smashed lens - anybody got a spare.

I've not had chance to dig around my spares box but I do have one on the bumper I recently removed:

I'm not entirely sure what I've done with the ones from the previous safrane I broke up but I'll take me chances on still having a spare buried somewhere.

Anyway if you'd like this one, I can sell you which ever part (large / small / both) you need.

PM me if you want to make a deal ;)

Hi there,

I sourced and received a fog light (the large bit) as the glass on mine was smashed. Struggling to understand how to remove it though. I think it must have something to do with a little clip at the bottom of the smaller part but don't want to force it and risk breaking it. Any hints????

Under the smaller lens there is a little plastic tab (you can just about see it in the photo above - to the left and at the bottom of the smaller piece). It's as stubborn as a mule but if you get some long nosed pliers and pull it away from the large part then you can pull the small one forwards. It's on a plastic rail though and it'll be very stiff as you pull it forward. It won't break but you do need to be persuasive with it.

Thanks Saffles, so I move it towards the centre of the car and pull the smaller lens forward. Or do I pull it out away from the car????

Pull the small tab towards the middle of the car - away from the larger lens. You will need needle nose pliers though as they're incredibly stubborn / stiff and will hurt your fingernails if you try with your fingers.
