I,ve always thought that early Phase 1s had plans to have an electric headrest fitted,the genuine workshop manuals do mention electric headrests and so does a drawing of the seat switch movement which would move the headrest.
When i stripped the front seats down to the frames there was looms to both headrests attached to the frame,both different but there at least.
In a very early pre-launch brochure there is a mention of the headrest for the drivers seat which adjusts with the memory switch,its the only mention i have ever seen.
It appears though that no Safrane was ever fitted with the headrest,even abroad,i have contacted several foreign owners of early cars,all V6 or Bi-Turbo/Baccara and all said they haven,t got electric headrests,but why go to all the effort in the manuals etc,and the looms but never actually fit it,would love to find one with them....

I suspect they were fitted to the presidential safrane and other diplomatic vehicles, probably not something fitted to the lower class ones.
