Hey all,

Just signed up to seek some advice really! I've got a lovely 25 TXI, near immaculate (having just spent £700 on paint correction and rust repair!), however theres one upgrade i'd love to do and thats fitting the double din CD/Cassette unit from a safrane.

I was wondering if anyone knew if i could get away with using the standard radio display in the 25 dash, I know this won't display CD/track info etc but maybe it would display the frequencies from AM/FM? Or would I have to bit the bullet and source a safrane display, I was hoping the wiring/plug for the screen would be the same

By double din do you mean one of those double height stereos that were in the phase1 safranes? I'm not sure anyone here will know (SAFRANEV6RXE might as his family have a renault history) but you might have better luck on the retro renault forums as thats full of R25 people :)

I'm on the other forums, drawn a dead end there aswell! I guess i'll see if someone can take a pic of the back of the saf unit for me and then i'll compare it with the wiring in the one in my 25, if its a no go, then not putting a modern unit in, i'll live with cassette!

Hi
Welcome to the forum
Its difficult to find a double DIN from a phase 1 Safrane,i do have a spare i think with CD player but it does the same common problem,it trys to load a CD all the time, the way to bypass this is to actually load a CD then its fine,EVERY unit i,ve had does this!!!
I can supply a double DIN CD player and a Safrane display if you want? just let me know i have both i could sell you and have the code.
