Welcome! You're possibly in the right place. Our forum member SAFRANEV6RXE knows LOTS of ph1 owners. Can you tell us more? - eg engine size? - If it's a 3L the chances are he's come across it at some point. PS I've changed your permissions, you can now post without moderation |

No idea if it still exists but you'll be lucky to find one for sale. I think there are only about 5 3L RXEs left in existence - SAFRANEV6RXE will know better as he's always on howmanyleft looking up the numbers. |

Hello and welcome to the site Well let me get my anorak on first...... Your car like so many V6 RXE was registered at CAT GB(Southampton)the Renault import centre, lots of them where RPX regs and i think at least one of my breakers was,and also registered on 28/10/93 a day that many early Safranes seem to have been registered!!! Now i can,t get the pics up at the moment but there was a Twilight blue RXE registed that date i think that was owned by a chap in Scotland who broke it and carreid on trying to save it but gave up,i bought some parts several years ago from him,but i need to look at the photos i have to see the reg. Your car is as follows on the DVLA site The enquiry is complete. The vehicle details for L926 RPX are: Date of Liability 07 05 2008 Date of First Registration 28 10 1993 Year of Manufacture 1993 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2975cc CO₂ Emissions Not Available Fuel Type PETROL Export Marker N Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour BLUE Vehicle Type Approval Not Available The tax was removed in May 2008 and at an exact date not the 1st or last day but the 7th which makes me think it was removed for a reason, maybe confirmed gearbox failure? As for surviving RXEs there are 4 or 5 left on the road,i own(or owned)2 of them but my K reg is on its way to Ireland to another forum member and i still have my stunning L reg,i learn,t a couple of weeks ago about an L reg that was roadworthy but has been scrapped,so i guess when the new HOW MANY LEFT figures come out the truth might be 2/3 left on the roads, once Renault flagship model reduced to few examples, the chances of finding a nice roadworthy one are very, very slim, but you might? |

Just looked at work,it wouldn,t be the one in Scotland that had leather seats, yours had cloth and a CD player. I see it had some exhaust issue done at 35,626 miles on 1/11/2002 aswell. It says it had no sunroof aswell which is starange all UK cars had them as standard from March 93. |

Thanks for the response - very interesting. You are right - it had no sunroof. We had some problems with the transmission going into safety mode right from the start and the Renault dealers were as useful as the proverbial chocolate fireguard - as they still are. I also recall a problem with the system for self levelling suspension going a bit bananas from time to time. Having said all of that, it was an anonymously designed car which felt strong and comfy. The elec rear seats were useful when fitting a child seat and the car was, overall, very good. The first registered keeper was Williams F1 who parted with it in 1996. Does this show on your records? It seems the only place to find an RXE now is probably in France where there are probably still hundreds knocking about the place. By the way, we have crossed paths recently on the Vel Satis forum - I'm the one with 5 VS (all 3.5V6) and some Avantimes. I mainly collect Rover 800s and modern big Citroens, though. Well, someone has to. |
