I recognise that car! I saw it on ebay last year! I remember thinking about buying it because it was blue (fav colour as a kid) and I wanted a towbar!
I used to see quite a few around at one point but they're definitely becoming a rare breed now.
We have another member here - earwicker - who I used to see drive past me every few days a few years back as he's in the same county. He's sold that car now but I used to see if every 4-5 days on average. Little did I know it once belonged to another Safrane friend of mine a few years before that!
We used to have one around here that had a 'Supercharged' badge on the back too. I used keep a very sharp eye out for it and once followed it to work hoping it would pull over on the way and I'd get to ask him about it. He carried on past my work so that didn't work but a few months later I pulled up next to him at some traffic lights - would down our windows, said hello etc.. turned out he'd stuck the badge on and it was just a normal 2.5. He said he'd been hoping to catch hold of me as he knew I'd got a few safranes and he needed a part for his (unfortunately I didn't have it). I've also been followed, done the following etc. One night I was on my way to Standstead airport (about 2am) when I had a car right up my backside. It eventually overtook me and slowed down as its front windows became level with mine. Sped up, pulling in front it slowed down again to reveal its back end - Safrane - at 2am in the morning! What are the odds eh?
I don't normally have a camera to hand with me when I see Safranes out in the wild (my phone doesn't have one either) so I rarely manage to get pics but I did see this one a couple of years back and snap it - then met the owner (french):

It was a 2.2 diesel from France, cloth seats, knackered sill under the drivers door, nail in the bumper holding the headlight washer on etc.. bit of a banger but the chap loved it to bits saying his family had owned it for many years and it had been a very reliable car that had been passed to him by his father. He was very pleased with it (That reminds me, I told him I'd put that pic on the site - that was 2.5 years ago - it's finally made it today!).
This is mine (the gold one) and my mates green 2L (The guy that once owned earwickers car) - I think he's got rid of it now as its cambelt went:

I think those are the only two pics I've got that I've taken myself of other peoples cars but this is definitely and interesting idea for a topic!
