Thats right the CD was an option on the double DIN,they came as non CD items with the jack plug as standard.
These are rare to find.
I thought the only way to swop the language was the change the voice computer, when i look one up at work it does ask what country its for and i think i have a French one with FR written on it.
Its under the passengers seat in the U.K.
On a Phase 1 the tubes are attached to the underside of the actual dash top,i looked at some pics i have of the dash stripped and i can,t see the tubes, but then realised they are on the dash top itself!

I will see if there is a way to repair cd player in mine, if not I will search for the one with jack plug.

I guess voice computer comes preset with some language. I have no practical experience with this, just thought that it is interesting information to share, but ofcourse it may not be true.

Do you have pictures of ph1 tubes/dash top? It would be a good solution if it can be mounted on ph2.

In other news, last weekend I have moved to another city. After I have fully loaded the safrane and attached a trailer full of stuff, I have noticed traces of liquid and puddles where the car has been.

There was approximately 2 litres of coolant missing. That made me suspicious, so I've also checked the driver and passanger footwell. Ofcourse drivers side (left hand side) carpet and center console was blueish and wet  I guess that means replacement of heater matrix. I don't want to know how much work is needed for that. It seems that coolant also did something to airbag system, since the airbag light came on
I still don't know what is leaking in the engine bay, but it seems that the leak is somewhere under the water pump.

Also some of the engine mounts need replacing, and I have quite a few knocks coming from front suspension (I guess that is why the car was so sensitive to road inclination).

Sounds like you have a heater matrix leak, its a bit of a job,but not terrible once you get involved and LHD maybe easier than RHD.
Are you going to do the work and the mounts etc or leave it?
Looks like a really smart car, shame to part with it if you think you can repair it.

I'm in the middle of moving (half of the stuff is still in my old apartment) so I can't do all the work now. I'll try to find someone who can fix the leaks (although I would like to do work myself). If that doesn't set me back too much financially, I will also put LPG in this month. Suspension and mounts will have to wait. I don't plan on giving up, I meant to do those things anyway for peace of mind (apart from heater matrix). Is there any aircon parts I should change while I have the dash apart?

I didn't want to say anything but it's a big job to replace the heater matrix on a safrane - trust me I've removed one from a car I dismantled and it's a real pain.

I had to undo exhaust shields, then nuts hidden behind there just to remove the entire unit as the matrix is fitted inside that. I've no idea if the matrix can be removed separately without the plastic unit but to remove the whole unit is a pain.

I've found few complete instructions with pictures. That's why it was left to professionals, together with full engine service, engine mounts and suspension parts. I can't wait to get the bill

No sorry i don't know. The only other thing you could do is try a leather specialist or find another steering wheel.

I've found some info on how to do it, something to clean and degrease it, 2000 grit sandpaper and leather dye to finish it off. I think there is no chance to find another genuine leather steering wheel in better condition.
