Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay is in a 2.5?
There's a box with four relays in line in the rear of the engine bay on right side (looking from front). Is it any of those?

No idea about the euro version but Kapetan Zec's car shows it in the same place so I would think they are all the sane:

From memory, both as it's a locking relay system but i can't be sure as it's been a long time since i have dealt with them

I actually had only two relays in that box, they were in the two rearmost slots. Both of them were activated when i ran the fuel pump relay test from CLiP. But my fuel pump has been wired with constant supply.
I guess i need to drop the tank down to access the fuel pump? Can anyone give me a hint where the wires run?
I need to find the original fuel pump power supply and attach it to the pump and see if it works. I have no idea ho the connections are made, maybe i'll call the previous owner and ask...

While looking for the pump i barely touched the filter and it started to leak :(

The air pump in front of the engine is always on when the ignition is on. Is that normal?

There's also a quite loud hissing noise coming from somewhere near the fuel rail, but i suppose it's because the fuel pump is always running.

I called the previous owner and he told the fuel pump is accessible from the trunk (i only looked under the rear seat) and that the original connector for the pump is there.

A friend of mine translated this schematic from a Russian repair manual. Am I right that the two relays in the box i mentioned are #4 and #7 ?
And because they seem to click properly when activating with CLiP, the fault must be somewhere between the relays and and the pump itself.
But what is this "fuel pump controller" with only the 2 wires? Is it an integrated part of the pump? Or is that the other relay in the box with #4 and the main relay #7 is somewhere else?

I can't really say much at the moment as my manual is locked away but the two relays are a locking system - one locks the other on (well that's what i was told). I suspect your problem may be a damaged wire under the car. The fuel tank can be accessed from the boot under the carpet via the two round covers. The wire runs under the car somewhere but i can't remember much about it so take a look at my restoration thread on the projects forum as i took the tank down and posted photos. Hopefully that will help you a bit more!

I took a look at the fuel pump today. The original connector about 20cm away from the pump was disconnected and straight 12V connected to the pump. I noticed the other pin in the connector was loose and after pyshing it back the original setup works now.

I also took the driver's seat out to get the front side lift mechanism welded. It would have been a walk in the park if all four plastic covers under the car would have been in place...

Next thing is the ABS unit. I thought i could get to it by removing the battery tray but looks like it's accessible from the wheel well...

Yes.

Is it possible to remove the electronic unit and leave the hydraulic block in place? I guess there's a problem with the ABS ECU and it would be easier if i could take it out wihout removing the brake lines.
