I was talking about snow. I can't imagine a car which can be controlled and predicted on ice, except if we are talking about studded tyres or eventually chains.

I have accidentaly bought another safrane  '97 2.5 20v Initiale manual. same colour as the first one. I think it was V6 automatic originally (it is v6 in papers and I see a button with snowflake next to the gearshift knob, which I guess used to be winter mode for automatic gearbox). it is in quite bad shape, but has everything I want to complete my car. I will be selling some things that I don't need. (working sunroof, original alarm system, initiale alloys, cd changer etc) I still need to see it in daylight.

Accidentally.... Image

Seriously though that engine setup is seriously weird. Is that a turbo or lpg engine? It certainly isn't the renault version of the 2.5L engine, that is a genuine volvo engine from a genuine volvo car (or dealer / factory) I think.

I like those front seats... they're very nice.

Can you post anymore pictures of your engine bay please? ;)

it is LPG conversion (at least I haven't found the turbo yet). I don't know if you have such versions in civilized world, it is version without injectors or computer, basically the same as if you converted carburetor engine. maintenance is almost free, installation is much cheaper, consumption is 10-15% higher and power losses are also about 10-15%.

what makes you think it is volvo engine? isn't it just renault version with plastic cover off? volvos have different oil filler cap.

Yes the volvo version does have a different filler cap but your engine has different plastic stuff on top that looks like the volvo plastic.

Can you post a nice big picture of your engine bay? - I'm fascinated by it!

No it doesn't - that car has HT leads that are clearly visible on top of the rocker cover.

Kapetan Zec's car has plastic box looking type stuff. Also look at the throttle body.. .there is something extra connected to it that is not on the leboncoin sites car.

this "box looking type stuff" has 4 screws in it where the renault plastic cover should be attached, so I believe this is original Renault engine.

this safrane #2 is insured until april, after that I will take it apart, use some parts to repair/upgrade safrane #1, keep some parts as spares, and the rest is for sale, so if anybody needs anything please let me know. shell and what remains will be scrapped before the summer. shipping cost for 30kg parcel to GB is £40 (1kg £8), to Finland £65 (1kg is £10).
