There is definitely something strange about that engine layout..

Yes I think that is the renault version - I realise now what that plastic is. It's the bottom half of the engine cover - the top part of it has been removed (thats why it has for holes for sliding sideways). What I don't understand is why someone would leave the bottom half of a broken engine cover lol.

That throttle body / Idle Control Valve is also a weird setup.

I have a problem with idle control valve so I will have to swap them over. When I am driving at some RPM and press the clutch pedal or lift off the foot from the accelerator pedal, engine stays at the same RPM for 2-3 more seconds, which causes trouble if you want to make quick shifts.
Also, my accelerator cable (to be precize, plastic clip at the end) snapped 2 days ago, which wouldn't normally be a problem if my MOT wasn't due in 4 days  Ofcourse, new one is not available from Renault, and I didn't have any luck finding the replacement one, so I am not quite sure how I will fix this.

I've found a guy who produces and repairs cables, he replaced the plastic bit at the end and shortened the cable for about 2-3mm. It should now last for next 300000km I hope ;)

I have a problem with airbag+service lights. They were turned on before already and my mechanic erased the fault so they were off until I moved the drivers seat. After some time they turned off by themselves again, but after I moved the seat again they turned on and this time they stayed permanently. It sounds like some kind of connector under the seat causes the trouble, any idea (or better yet pictures)?

Found connector, fixed it. Went to MOT, failed on left ball joint, leaky steering rack and tire dimensions. 195/65/15 on the car, 195/55/15 and 205/60/15 in paperwork. After a week of running around, finally new plates

can anyone tell me how to remove the tank strap (or better to say, what is left of it)? I can see one bolt, but the other side seems unreachable.

It is hidden further up than the one nearest the ground so you will need an extension bar.

The difficult part is putting it back.. Do the short side first and then the long one as you can bend it into place for the bolt to go in.
