I didn't know they could be reconditioned.. may seriously consider that in a few months but have more pressing things at the moment (health, employment etc).

Yes, thanks for that! Pretty much anything can be reconditioned or re-made. I currently work for a Lotus Specialist so it's not uncommon to have to find solutions for obsolete parts. The finished pipe looked much better than it probably did new and should have a much longer lifespan than the original. Feel free to contact me should anyone need this part sorting. Despite it looking rotten, it actually wasn't too bad once it was wire brushed and the leak had been found. Thanks
